By the 1970s, the Dobbin House stood at the brink of loss—weathered, neglected, and facing possible demolition. In 1976, during the nation’s Bicentennial, one young couple and a team of experts began the process of saving it. Through photographs, stories, and behind-the-scenes insights, this program traces the remarkable restoration that brought the house back to life—preserving not just a building, but a tangible link to Gettysburg’s colonial past. Longtime owner Jackie White, who led the restoration, will present this special program in the Dobbin House Dinner Series.
